Well over 30 years ago I began my study of rich and successful people.<\/p>\n

Of course, not all rich people are successful, and not all successful people are rich but remember I was much younger and more na\u00efve then and wanted it all.<\/p>\n

I tried to understand why some people were rich while others kept struggling financially.<\/p>\n

Over the years I attended many seminars, paid mentors, and read as many books as I could on the topic of success.<\/p>\n

I modelled successful people and eventually grew successful myself.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t easy, I\u2019ve had my challenges in life (mostly self-inflicted) and I\u2019ve hit rock bottom, but I got up again, learned from my mistakes, and moved forward.<\/p>\n

And for well over a decade I\u2019ve mentored over 3,500 successful (and some not so successful) investors, business people and entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

In fact, a byproduct of this is my international top-selling book\u00a0 \u2013 Rich Habits, Poor Habits –<\/a> which has been translated into 4 foreign languages<\/p>\n

Being rich has little to do with the money itself<\/span><\/h2>\n

Instead, it has a lot to do with how you think about money.<\/p>\n

While I explain this in some detail in my book, today I\u2019d like to briefly share\u2026<\/p>\n

21 Success Habits of The Rich \u2026.<\/span><\/h2>\n

  1. The average Australian thinks about spending their money, while the rich think about how to invest their money.<\/li>\n
  2. The average Australian worries about running out of money while the rich think about how to use their money to make more money.<\/li>\n
  3. Most people believe hard work makes you rich, while the rich know that leverage creates wealth.\n

    <\/strong><\/li>\n

  4. Successful people don\u2019t procrastinate.
    They don\u2019t spend their life waiting for the \u2018right time\u2019 or waiting until they know it all or have figured everything out.<\/li>\n
  5. The average person believes having a job gives them security.
    The Rich know there\u2019s no such thing as \u201cjob security.\u201d<\/li>\n
  6. Most people \u201cwant to be rich. The Rich is committed to being Rich. (They are very different things.)<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. When things go wrong, the Rich find a lesson, while others only see a problem.<\/li>\n
  8. \u00a0The average Australian sets their financial expectation low, so they\u2019re never disappointed.
    On the other hand, the Rich set their financial expectations high so they\u2019re always excited.<\/li>\n
  9. Successful people take calculated risks \u2013 financial, emotional, professional, and psychological. But once they\u2019ve built their wealth they take fewer risks.<\/li>\n
  10. The Rich consciously and methodically create their own success, while others hope success will find<\/i> them.<\/li>\n
  11. The Rich look for and find opportunities where others see obstacles.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  12. The average Australian believes life happens to them.
    They are a passenger, while the Rich believe that they create their own destiny.
    They are the pilot of their lives.<\/li>\n
  13. Successful people align themselves with like-minded people.
    They understand the importance of being part of a team.
    They create win-win relationships.<\/li>\n
  14. The poor believe money will make them happier, while the Rich know that money has little to do with happiness, but it does make your life easier and more enjoyable.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  15. The Rich don\u2019t blame (what\u2019s the point?).
    They take responsibility for their actions and outcomes (or lack thereof).
    They know there is no such thing as a rich victim.<\/li>\n
  16. The poor believe it\u2019s wrong for a small group of people (the 1%) to possess most of the money.
    The Rich welcomes the masses (the 99%) to join them.<\/li>\n
  17. Successful people are not necessarily more talented than the majority, yet they always find a way to maximise their potential.
    They get more out of themselves. They use what they have more effectively.<\/li>\n
  18. The poor believe they must choose between great family life and being poor, or love and being poor. The Rich know they can have it all.<\/li>\n
  19. Successful people are solution-focused, rather than looking for problems or obstacles.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  20. Successful people are fearful like everyone else, but they are not controlled or limited by fear. They use it to empower themselves.<\/li>\n
  21. Successful people get up early.
    They know there\u2019s no shortcut so they work hard until they\u2019ve accumulated a big enough asset base (created their own cash machine) so they to have to work hard anymore.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Now before you get too offended\u2026<\/b><\/p>\n

    I\u2019m not making a judgment when I say rich people or poor people \u2013 they are terms I use to help clarify the different ways of thinking that 1% of Australians exhibit from the majority of the population.<\/p>\n

    It\u2019s also worth realising\u2026<\/h4>\n

    We all have some of these successful habits and we all exhibit some disempowering habits.<\/p>\n

    The big differentiator in the see-saw of life is doing you have more of these success habits or more of the disempowering \u201cpoor\u201d habits.<\/p>\n
