{"id":1479,"date":"2022-01-13T02:21:25","date_gmt":"2022-01-13T02:21:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/royabhishek.in\/urbanbuyer\/vacancy-rates-increase-over-december\/"},"modified":"2022-01-13T02:21:25","modified_gmt":"2022-01-13T02:21:25","slug":"vacancy-rates-increase-over-december","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/royabhishek.in\/urbanbuyer\/vacancy-rates-increase-over-december\/","title":{"rendered":"Vacancy rates increase over December"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>National residential property rental vacancy rates increased to 1.6%, up by 0.1% over December 2021. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-151387 img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/property-rise-300x180.jpg\" alt=\"Property Rise\" width=\"300\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/property-rise-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/property-rise.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\"\/>The total number of vacancies Australia-wide now stands at 57,558 residential properties, up from 55,370 in November.<\/p>\n<p>Canberra and Darwin vacancy rates increased to 1.0% and 1.2% in December up from 0.8% and 0.9% in November.<\/p>\n<p>In Perth, Adelaide, and Hobart the vacancy rate remained below 1.0%, while in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane rates remained constant.<\/p>\n<p>Vacancy rates fell in the Sydney CBD and Melbourne CBD to 5.7%.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/fig1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-160520 img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/fig1-1160x447.jpg\" alt=\"Fig1\" width=\"1160\" height=\"447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/fig1-1160x447.jpg 1160w, https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/fig1-300x116.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/fig1.jpg 1275w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1160px) 100vw, 1160px\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Anthony Ishac, General Manager of SQM Research said,<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt is clear rental markets rebounded over 2021 across the country compared to this time last year, with every capital city market reporting a tightening of rental vacancies and rises in asking rents.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the challenges of Covid-19 restrictions, demand for rentals increased over the year and coupled with a decline in available rental stock has placed upward pressure on asking rents.<\/p>\n<p>Inner city and CBD rentals have continued to improve from the vacancy highs reported in 2020 and follow the same national trends.<\/p>\n<p>The ongoing move towards regional living has seen rental markets tighten even further in noncity markets where in some major towns finding a rental home is no longer an option.<\/p>\n<p>The outlook for 2022 is for rental markets to continue to remain tight until the anticipated easing in property prices takes effect providing some relief for renters.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Rents<\/h2>\n<p>National asking rents rose 0.9% for houses to $556 per week and units remained constant at $416 a week.<\/p>\n<p>Capital city rents rose by 0.8% for houses over the past 30 days to stand at $608 a week.<\/p>\n<p>Rents for units rose by 1.2% to stand at $434 a week.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/fig02-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-160521 img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/fig02-1.jpg\" alt=\"Fig02\" width=\"900\" height=\"1163\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/fig02-1.jpg 900w, https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/fig02-1-232x300.jpg 232w, https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/fig02-1-536x692.jpg 536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>[ad_2]<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/propertyupdate.com.au\/vacancy-rates-increase-over-december\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[ad_1] National residential property rental vacancy rates increased to 1.6%, up by 0.1% over December 2021.
